Sacred Circle Mentoring

You've come here for a reason, Sister.

Supporting Women Who Feel Called to Facilitate Sacred Circles

If you’re reading this, it’s my hunch that you’re feeling called to facilitate sacred sister circles. Perhaps you’ve already taken a training or two – maybe even my tiny course?! – and yet something’s holding back from offering this powerful gift to your community.

Sacred Circle Mentoring is part Wayfinding and part mentoring. We’ll explore what’s keeping you playing small and holding back (Wayfinding) and what you feel wobbly on in terms of facilitation skills or circling knowledge (mentoring).

I’ve witnessed far too many talented and inspired women withholding the ancient and sacred medicine of sister circles from their communities. Sister, we so need your medicine.

Mentoring May be for you if you...

…feel called to facilitate sacred sister circles but don’t know how.

…know that you could spend a lot of time figuring everything out on your own but would rather not.

…doubt your ability to facilitate a circle because you’re deeply introverted.

…tell yourself you “just need one more training”…

…procrastinate scheduling your first circle because your fear tells you that “now isn’t the right time”.

Mentoring is your invitation to...

…offer transformative sacred sister circles!

…confidently facilitate sacred sister circles for a diverse group of women.

…channel your introversion to facilitate powerful circles, without dysregulating your nervous system.

…move through your resistance to doing the sacred work you’re being called to do.

…know in your gut that you’re ready to do this.

What makes me the right mentor for you?

Questions?

Please review the Q&As below. If you don’t see your question, drop me a line at [email protected]. I’ll do my best to respond within 2 business days.

I’ve been gathering women on or around every full moon since May of 2022. I’ve also facilitated many new moon circles, virtual circles, and sacred journeys with Mama Cacao. This has become my life’s work and the current expression of my purpose. It freaking lights my soul on fire each and every time I have the privilege of gathering women in sacred circle!

I’ve also facilitated many 12-step circles and even a community circle. And I’ve sat in many circles and sacred ceremonies performed by Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota and Diné elders during my activist days many years back. It was these sacred ceremonies that have, perhaps, influenced me the most.

Finally, I’ve received formal training in sacred circle facilitation from the Center for Transformational Coaching, Global Sisterhood (currently enrolled), and The Wild Woman Project. I’ve also completed a sacred cacao carrier training through Lynette Allen and received a certificate in trauma-informed facilitation through SoulWork. And, I’m a voracious consumer of content – books, blog posts, etc. – on the subject.

I’ll also mention that as a certified Wayfinder Life Coach, I’ve had ample training in the art of holding space. DEEP SPACE. I was pretty damn good at holding space before that – seven years devoted to weekly recovery circles necessitated it – but Wayfinding took it to a whole new level. Just saying.

I’m so glad you asked! A few of the elements that I consciously bring to the circles I facilitate include equity in sharing, trauma-informed language, and a deep reverence for not appropriating practices from other cultures that I haven’t been given permission to share. In addition, I place great importance on creating the bounds of a sacred circling container through agreements that sisters take ownership of.

I’ve sat in circles where – as an introvert – I didn’t feel seen, and this partly informs how I advocate for equity in sharing. I’ve also sat in circles that were a bit jarring to me, circles that offered authoritative instructions (e.g. “Close your eyes”) – which can be triggering to trauma survivors – and which I underly my approach to creating safer circles.

Finally, I’d like to note that it’s been my experience that the most transformative circles are those that are guided by a facilitator rather than a leader. The distinction may seem trivial, but I’ve found that it’s anything but! While I am happy to mentor circle leaders, just know that when I guide circles, I view my role as a facilitator.

First, let me just say that you don’t need to take a training before calling a sacred circle! Women have been calling circles for millennia, and I promise you that there’s nothing inherently complicated about the process!

That being said, there are a lot of considerations that a well-structured training will address that you might not consider on your own (see my answer to the previous question). My tiny course offers you such a training at a fraction of the cost of a live course.

Whether or not you’ve taken a formal training, if you feel called to work with me in a mentoring capacity,  that’s what counts. If you don’t have the foundations, we’ll start there! And even if you do, I might challenge you on some of them. Just sayin’!

Also, just a note that I do offer an option to apprentice with me. Due to the nature of the work and commitment on my part, I only am able to work in this capacity with one virtual sister and one in-person sister at a time. If this is something you’re interested in, please schedule an exploratory call as you would for a mentoring subscription and mention your interest in apprenticing in the form. Thanks!
